Why BLG works this way
What BLG believes
The adviser closest to the business should be the one testing the decisions.
Not coordinating after the fact. Seeing it before the decision is made.
Major decisions should be tested before commitment.
Adviser coordination should be proactive, not reactive. Business and personal considerations should be connected, not handled in separate conversations.
These aren't services.
They’re convictions about how advisory should work and why fragmented advice costs more than most owners realise.
Tested in a specific place, over real time
BLG started in 1994 as a chartered accounting practice in Wollongong. Over three decades, the model shifted. Compliance remained the foundation. But the work that mattered most sat elsewhere — in the decisions clients were facing, and the gaps between the advisers around them.
That shift came from experience. Working with owner-led businesses through growth, governance, transition, and stewardship. Advising across generations: the founder who built it, the children who inherited it, the families navigating what comes next.
The firm's embeddedness in the Illawarra isn't a geographic footnote. It's why the model works. Knowing the industries, the families, and the commercial landscape – that context makes the involvement substantive rather than generic.
